The Department of Medical Biology is part of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine at Trakya University. In this department, TÜBİTAK and TÜBAP supported scientific researches are conducted in fields such as health and life sciences. Cell culture, cell biology and molecular genetics are carried out within this context. Concomitantly, theoretical and applied courses are given to medical faculty students by the faculty members of the department within the scope of basic medical education. The mission of this department is to train physicians who have the capacity to conduct scientific research and use the correct diagnosis/treatment options with the knowledge they have acquired about the molecular biological mechanisms of diseases. The vision of the department is to reach the level of a research center based on an integrative approach that is known in the international arena and paves the way for its use in human and public health by producing knowledge within the scope of molecular biology and life sciences.
