Our department was established on 27.07.1982 under the name of the Biochemistry Department within the Trakya University Faculty of Medicine. The name of the department was changed to Medical Biochemistry on 21.05.2009 by CoHE legislation. Our department carries out the Medical Biochemistry graduate program since October 3, 1988, and the doctorate program since September 15, 2008, within the Institute of Health Sciences.
The purpose of the Medical Biochemistry Graduate Education Program is to provide the student with theoretical knowledge in the field of biochemistry, to gain technical skills in laboratory studies, to gain access to information, to plan research and do it,  comment the results of experiments, to solve problems, to make presentations, to be a team member, and to gain scientific ethics.
